Grandma was a poor woman but that did not stop her from being a very generous Grandma. She was always giving and making sure her children and grandchildren had what they needed , if it was food, clothing, furniture and in many other ways. She never showed up to our house without something for our family. I still have a dresser she brought over when I was in junior hi school.I also have a doll she pulled out of a car at Uncle Roy's wrecking yard and gave to me.
Holiday dinners at her house were special and always something to look forward to. We always had chicken and noodles, yummm! and Easter always meant pickled beat boiled eggs in a big jar.She always dressed nice for the day but always had on her apron, I think that is why I always wear an apron when I cook.
Grandma was a positive influence in my life, what a Grandma should be. She was strong and a survivor. It makes me cry to think of how special she was to me. ~Sandra~

PS. I hope others share their memories. I could say a lot more, maybe I will soon.
